Hi, my name is Mohammed Azim. I am 20 years old. I am basically an Indian but I was born and raised in Abu Dhabi, UAE (United Arab Emirates). Currently, I’m in Victoria. I came here in September 2022 and joined the University of Victoria. I am majoring in Computer Science and expected to graduate in April 2026. My favourite subject is computer programming and I have been learning programming languages like C++, java, python, etc.
My hobbies include playing football, gaming, watching movies, etc. I mostly play the position CM (centre midfielder) in football. My favourite football club is Real Madrid. I also play video games (mostly multiplayer online shooting games) on PC, console, and mobile. I also watch movies and series from different languages and genres.
By taking this course, I hope to gain the skills to effectively design and implement technology-mediated learning experiences that are inclusive, aligned with learning theories, and engaging for diverse learners.
Learning Pod Self Reflection
- Preferred mode of remote communication: I prefer asynchronous communication channels like iMessage, Discord, or Mattermost where I can respond at my own pace, but I’m flexible and comfortable with synchronous methods like video calls (Zoom meetings) when necessary.
- Communication strengths: I am clear and concise in my written communication. I am an active listener and am receptive to feedbacks.
- Communication weaknesses and areas for growth: I am not that good at presenting things among a group, but I can provide valid points to the content.
- Introvert or extrovert: I lean more towards being an introvert. While I enjoy collaborating with others, I also value time alone to recharge and reflect.
- Time zone: I am currently in Victoria (Pacific Daylight Saving Time: GMT-7).
- Preferred time for academic work: I am most productive in the late morning to early afternoon, but I’m flexible and can adjust my schedule as needed to accommodate group work.
- Sharing emotions when upset: I tend to keep my emotions to myself initially, but I am open to sharing with trusted people when necessary. I believe that sharing your grief with others will give you a temporary relief.
- Likes about group work: I enjoy the opportunity to share ideas, analyze different perspectives, and work towards a common goal. I believe that group work often leads to more creative and comprehensive outcomes.
- Dislikes about group work: Sometimes coordination and communication can be challenging, especially when schedules and priorities vary among team members.
- Additional information for the team: I am committed to contributing my best effort to our collective success and am open to constructive feedback and collaboration. I look forward to working together effectively as a team.
